Why'd you have to take Jess away?
They started from the bottom trying to reach the top, They rushed in some good Doctors and helicopter too, Why'd you have to take Jess away,
It happened on a Friday in the county of Clear Creek,
Jess Weaver and two buddies were trying to reach the peak.
In the state of Colorado near a place called Silver Plume,
Little did the three boys know that one would meet his doom.
Poor Jessie made a wrong move and took a deadly drop.
When he'd reached the bottom he'd taken a deadly fall,
They said he came right down the side just like a little doll.
But fate was about to take its toll and everybody knew.
A difference of three hundred feet to where he came to lie,
Three hours latter in a hospital, Jessie died.
he wasn't seventeen if he was a day?
Life was good to him and he was a friend,
why'd you have to bring it all to an end?

Jessie Weaver
Jess Weaver died while
mountain climbing in Colorado
the summer between his junior
and senior year at Del Norte.
Charlie Radosevich died as a result of four 22
caliber gunshots wounds to the chest on January
12, 1979. He had hitched a ride home from a
stranger, named Jessie Joe Trujillo. Trujillo stated
he shot Charlie for the hell of it. Trujillo was
arrested and convicted for murder, and sentenced
to serve time in the New Mexico Penitentiary
